One-Line Bio

A family man and marketing guy just trying to make a difference in my little corner of the world.

Biography

We're human. We seek out relationships with people, companies and even brands. Deep, emotional relationships give our lives meaning. My hope is Risley Ranch will be a conduit for building relationships with others. No wak-wak; no spin. Just real conversations between humans.

But why a "ranch"? I grew up on a farm/ranch in Dighton, Kansas. If you've never experienced a farm/ranch, you may not understand this, but there's something very special about it. The interaction among people, animals and their environment...it's amazing. A great metaphor for relationships.

Currently I work for Barkley, but my work life has taken me to three different cities and six different jobs in as many industries. I'm best at business problem solving, which usually requires strategic planning, analytical thinking and understanding other people. It just so happens I can write and speak well enough other people understand me, too. I'm a native Kansan with a BS in journalism from the University of Kansas and an MBA from Benedictine College.
