Networking

I met David Parmet yesterday.  He was a panelist for the "New Marketing Case Studies" session here at the New Communications Forum.

David's a great guy.  He's an independent PR consultant whose most notable client is English Cut.  He's help take what Thomas and Hugh have done online and leverage it with traditional media. I picked David's brain over a drink so I could learn more about their success with this project, as well as with Stormhoek.  I want to attempt to replicate that success with one of our clients -- a client that has a very cool product and great story to tell.  More on this later.

Thanks for the insight David.

Great stuff. Even better? The wine IS good.

Question for Jeff: Did Hugh McLeod offer proof of Stormhoek's increased sales as a result of his blog experiment? I found the results very intriguing but I was hoping for some hard measurement. Anything to share?

Answer for Bob: Hugh didn't provide proof, but Stormhoek's founder verbally stated sales had doubled in a podcast interview of him: http://risleyranch.blogs.com/risleyranch/2006/01/_vs_.html It's doubtful they would ever report sales numbers, and I don't blame them.

Bob - what Jeff said.

Jeff - good to meet you as well!
