Playing with my new Sprint phone
My new Sprint phone arrived last week. They sent it to me free as part of their Ambassador Program to test out their Power Vision service. I have to say, I'm impressed with the technology. This phone/service has more bells and whistles than Shriners in a parade.
Setting up the service was easy. I called a special number, and a very nice customer service rep hooked me up. We had some issues with the passcode to unlock the phone (it kept locking, and still does, whenever I shut it down), but the friendly person solved it for me.
I immediately started playing with the 11 different main-menu items. I haven't had a multi-media phone before (I carry a Blackberry 7510), so this thing kind of blew my mind. I downloaded some tunes (Miles Davis), watched a movie trailer (the next X-Men movie) and snapped some pictures. By the way, Sprint didn't charge me for the tunes.
I was playing with it this morning and figured out how to email the pictures to myself so I could post them:
Me in my hotel room here in Denver (yes, I know it's cheesy to take a picture of yourself, but I wanted you to see what the phone looked like).
My colleague, Bob, who's with me on this trip.
Our son, Joe, playing with Mommy's old Sprint phone.
I've made one phone call on it, and the clarity was fine. Of course, I'm in Denver, a major metro area.
What I need to figure out next is how to sync the phone up with my Outlook contacts. It's probably pretty easy, but I just haven't taken the time to read the manual. I'd also like to find out if the phone can receive emails, like my Blackberry does, direct from our corporate Outlook, without me having to sync it up every time I want to read email.

I have yet to figure it all out myself. I AM using it in NZ to take some great photos, at least.
