What's fiction?

Jack, I'm flattered you pinged me (using Elizabeth's term) as part of Phil's meme test on Journalists in European fiction.  But you're right -- I read non-fiction.  In fact, that's about all I read.

I've read one Journalist extensively, and he's not European and some wouldn't call him a Journalist:  Hunter S. Thompson.

HST, in my opinion, is one of the best writers in history.  A big statement, yes, but I believe it.  His ability to tell a story and connect with readers was amazing.  Drunk or sober, he's one of my favorites.

That's my meager contribution, Phil.  But perhaps my friends Mike, Andy and Mason will offer more.  Fellas, go here for the rules.
